The trails extend up to 9000 feet over the floor of the valley and towers 10000 feet over the neighboring alpine vales. The steep elevation, the rugged terrain, the heavy snowfall and the out of the ordinary trek limit the number of visitors. This keeps the trails fresh. Adjacent to the day lodge, a three-quarter mile long loop in the meadow is specially designated for children. Bear Valley Mountain Ski Resort: just outside Tahoe and away from the crowds is Bear Valley Mountain Ski Resort.
