The scenery is dominated by the picturesque view of the river and the jagged rock outcrops referred to as the Pointed Rocks. The Western States Trail in the Folsom Lake State Recreational Area that connects Folsom Lake with Auburn State Recreation Area is visited by millions of hikers and bikers. It is situated in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and is a favored Northern California entertainment zone. The American River Parkway is a Northern California biking trail that provides priority to the bikers on the designated paths. The vibrant fauna include numerous birds like the native Wood Duck, Acorn, Magpie, Phainopepla. Different exotic species flock to the area in the summer and winter months. It runs from Old Sacramento to Beal’s Point on Folsum Lake. The terrain is flat. Foresthill Classic road presents an exhilarating Northern California recreation – a biking trail that straddles the Foresthill Divide in between the two great canyons of the American River.
